ADVISORY: All of Halifax Peninsula, including ҹɬƵ’s three campuses, are currently under a boil water advisory until further notice. All water must be boiled for at least one minute if it will be used for drinking or any other activity requiring human consumption.


Research at ҹɬƵ is constantly evolving, based on faculty interests, pedagogical needs, and emerging cultural conversations. We stress the importance of speculative, critical, studio-based, non-instrumental creative research work that contributes to the local, regional, national, and global culture. Our strategic priorities include Visual and Cultural Literacies, Sustainability and Adaptability, Material Exploration, and Art/Design Education and Pedagogy.

The Alfoldy Craft Institute (ACI) provides a framework for uniting diverse, cross-disciplinary craft activities through a focused research institute that brings the work of our makers and researchers to the international craft community.
